Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun environments while driving sales and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness in training areas; handle sick/injured pets immediately.
• Educate store associates as pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
