Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safe, clean environments. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required in this dynamic retail-pet role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Create safe class environments, keep areas clean, and handle sick/injured pets (including vet transport).
• Educate store associates as pet training expert, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
• Recommend merchandise/services and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments. Depth perception and flexibility essential.
