Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safe, clean environments. This dynamic role combines training expertise, customer service, and sales in a fun, pet-filled store setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes across channels and educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, recommend merchandise/services, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments. Depth perception and team lifting required.
