Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a welcoming store environment. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent expectations.
- Actively promote and sell training programs to drive enrollment.
- Maintain all training documentation and schedules per company standards.
- Keep training areas clean, safe, and presentable; respond to pet health issues promptly.
- Educate store associates on training benefits and recognize sales contributions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling pets in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair.
