Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart in Burbank, IL, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive reinforcement training per our proven curriculum. This role blends education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training classes, ensuring safe, fun experiences.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and outcomes professionally.
• Maintain accurate records, clean training areas, and store safety standards.
• Recognize team sales efforts and assist other departments as needed.
• Respond swiftly to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if required.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Comfort with live animals, moderate noise, and pet hair required.
