Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell our curriculum-driven programs, ensuring safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
• Create safe class environments, keep areas clean, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Train store associates as subject matter expert and assist other departments as needed.
• Recommend merchandise/services and participate in company culture initiatives.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing/walking, exposure to pets/noise, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
