Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell our curriculum-driven programs, ensuring safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in Burlington, ON.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; handle paperwork and scheduling.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas; respond to sick/injured pets with vet transport if needed.
• Train store associates as subject matter expert; recommend merchandise and assist other departments.
• Follow all policies, participate in recognition culture, and ensure store safety.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), standing, bending, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
