Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of enriching pet lives. Based in Calgary, Alberta, this role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and sales to drive training program success in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, ensure clean and safe training areas, and recognize team contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
