Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Calgary, Alberta store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell our curriculum-based classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Create safe environments for classes; keep areas clean and presentable.
• Recognize associate contributions, recommend merchandise, assist other departments.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
