Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Cape Coral store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on animal care in a dynamic retail environment. Ideal for animal enthusiasts with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training classes, ensuring safe, clean environments and positive outcomes for pets and owners.
• Actively sell classes via in-store interactions, phone, and online; educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and paperwork; schedule sessions per company guidelines.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing sales contributions.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, recommend services/merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in PetSmart's Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Comfort with animals, pet hair, and moderate noise required.
