Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive pet training programs. Based in Carolina, Puerto Rico, this role combines animal expertise, customer service, and retail sales in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone
• Ensure safe, clean training environments and respond to pet health emergencies
• Educate store associates as pet training subject matter expert
• Maintain accurate records, schedules, and compliance with company policies

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
