Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Cary, North Carolina, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, education, and exceptional service both in-store and online.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and fostering a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
