Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Based in Castleton, Indiana, this role combines animal care, education, and customer service in a dynamic retail setting. Ensure safe, positive experiences while upholding our mission to do Anything for Pets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
• Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Follow all policies, fostering a culture of belonging and excellence.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
