Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Catonsville store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering expert training services aligned with PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on animal care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, positive experiences for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, and ensure clean, safe training areas.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend products/services, and support store teams.
- Serve as training expert, recognizing associate contributions and upholding policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
