Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Cerritos store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on animal care in a dynamic retail environment. Ideal for animal enthusiasts with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training classes, ensuring safe, clean environments for pets and people.
• Actively sell classes via in-store interactions, phone, and online channels.
• Educate associates and customers on training benefits; handle inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain records, schedule sessions, and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend products, and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Comfort with animals, pet hair, and moderate noise required.
