Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a fun retail pet environment. Ensure safe, clean spaces while educating on training benefits and handling pet emergencies as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions with exceptional pet parent experiences.
• Actively sell classes, recommend merchandise, and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, schedules, training areas, and store safety standards.
• Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
• Respond to sick/injured pets and create inclusive class environments.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, handle live animals, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include reaching, stooping, and moderate noise exposure.
