Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers are the heart of our training programs in Charlotte, NC. You'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement-based classes while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care. This dynamic role combines education, sales, and hands-on animal interaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, ensuring pet parent satisfaction and pet success.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas safe and clean.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, collaborating with vets as needed.
• Cross-train associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Thrive under pressure with strong communication, organization, and pet-handling skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
