Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island location, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Accredited instructors like you actively promote and sell our curriculum while ensuring safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes proactively and educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend products, and support other departments as needed.
- Act as training expert for store associates and foster recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, and lifting up to 50lbs in a pet-filled environment.

- Handle sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and recommend merchandise/services
- Educate associates as pet training expert and participate in company culture initiatives
