Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Chatham, Ontario, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safe, clean environments. This role demands flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and merchandise; educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules per company guidelines, and store cleanliness.
• Create safe class environments; handle sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Train associates as subject matter expert; recognize contributions to training sales.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), stand/walk extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas common; reasonable accommodations available.
