Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers are the heart of our training programs, delivering positive reinforcement-based classes that transform pet behavior and strengthen bonds with owners. In this dynamic role, you'll engage pet parents in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and embody our mission of exceptional pet care experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions following PetSmart's proven curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on benefits across all levels.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, recommend services/merchandise, and collaborate across departments.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, fostering a culture of recognition and belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. You'll need computer proficiency, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments—depth perception required.
