Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision and curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes across channels.
- Educate on full training curriculum benefits; serve as store subject matter expert.
- Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, and ensure safety.
- Recognize associates, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow policies.
- Handle sick/injured pets, transporting to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, strong organization, and communication skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise environment.
