Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services using our proven curriculum, engages pet parents, and drives sales to enhance pet lives. This dynamic role combines animal handling, customer education, and store collaboration in a fast-paced retail setting. Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing team contributions and fostering a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and working with live animals in a moderate-noise environment. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
