Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Chester, VA store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, collaborating with vets as needed.
• Cross-train associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
