Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Chesterfield, Michigan store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell our proven curriculum while ensuring safety and exceptional service. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to educate and inspire.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates; recognize sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Must lift 50+ lbs, handle live animals, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pet hair/noise.
