Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun environments while driving sales and customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to manage experiences and resolve concerns.
• Sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Act as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
