Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited in our Training Instructor Course, you'll engage customers across phone, in-person, and online channels while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, stoop, kneel. Exposed to pet hair, moderate noise, wet areas, and mechanical parts. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes per company guidelines.
• Educate on full training curriculum and serve as store subject matter expert.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas and respond to sick/injured pets.
• Recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Passion for pets is essential.
