Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives class sales. You'll uphold our vision of exceptional pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safety and satisfaction for pets and people alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions via phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent interactions.
- Actively promote and sell training programs across channels.
- Maintain all training documentation and schedules per company standards.
- Ensure a clean, safe training area and respond to pet health emergencies.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
