Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, upholds company values, and drives pet parent engagement. Accredited instructors educate on training benefits, sell classes across channels, and maintain safe, clean environments. This dynamic role combines animal care, customer service, sales, and team collaboration in a pet-loving retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes via phone, in-person, or online, ensuring positive outcomes and addressing concerns.
- Actively sell and schedule classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Serve as store expert, recognizing associates and recommending merchandise/services.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
