Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes using our proven curriculum. This role combines animal handling, customer education, sales, and store support in a dynamic pet retail environment. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training classes over phone, in-person, or online while ensuring safety.
- Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas.
- Handle pet parent concerns, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Respond to sick/injured pets and promote store culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, noise, and wet environments common.
