Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell our curriculum-driven programs while ensuring safe, clean environments in our Cochrane store.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork and schedules per company standards.
- Ensure safety in training areas; respond to sick/injured pets including vet transport if needed.
- Clean training spaces, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility, organizational prowess, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environments.
