Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited in our Training Instructor Course, you'll engage customers across phone, in-person, and online channels while maintaining safety and sales excellence in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes following PetSmart curriculum, ensuring safe environments.
- Actively sell classes and merchandise, educating on full training benefits.
- Handle pet parent interactions, concerns, and outcomes professionally.
- Maintain paperwork, scheduling, and clean training areas.
- Recognize team contributions and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-filled setting.
