Role Overview
PetSmart Pet Trainers deliver positive reinforcement-based training classes, engage pet parents, and drive sales of our proven curriculum. This dynamic role combines pet expertise, customer service, and sales in a fun retail environment. Accredited instructors ensure safe, effective sessions while upholding our vision of exceptional pet care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, managing pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
- Foster a culture of belonging, recognition, and policy adherence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
