Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver exceptional training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per our proven curriculum, and foster a safe, welcoming environment in our Colorado Springs store.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and driving positive outcomes.
- Proactively sell training classes across channels and educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and ensure clean, safe training areas.
- Respond to sick/injured pets with immediate action, including vet transport, and recommend services/merchandise.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and support other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience in customer-focused settings, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs are essential. Exposure to pets, moderate noise, and wet environments is common.
