Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Columbia, SC store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry companions, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell our proven curriculum while ensuring safety and satisfaction in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates for sales contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pets/noise.
