Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, and ensure safe, fun sessions while contributing to store success. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and resolve pet parent concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively sell classes and merchandise; recognize team contributions.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, cleanliness, and safety protocols; handle sick/injured pets.
- Serve as training expert for associates and assist other departments.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays, and handle pets in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
