Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer is the go-to expert for positive reinforcement training, engaging pet parents and delivering exceptional experiences. You'll uphold our vision of pet well-being by providing curriculum-based classes, ensuring safety, and driving sales— all while fostering a welcoming store atmosphere in Concord, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training subject matter expert, recognizing team contributions to sales.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise—flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
