Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll actively promote and sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Recognize associates, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Passion for pets and sales acumen essential.
