Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a welcoming store environment in this dynamic, pet-loving role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on benefits across all channels.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
- Handle pet health emergencies, collaborate with teams, and assist other departments as needed.
- Foster a culture of belonging, recognition, and policy adherence.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
