Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell our curriculum while ensuring safe, clean training environments in our Courtenay store.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedules per company standards.
• Create safe spaces for classes, clean areas, and handle sick/injured pets (including vet transport).
• Train store associates on pet training, recognize sales efforts, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, pressure-handling composure, scheduling flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
