Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. Engage pet parents in-store, by phone, or online to sell classes, educate on benefits, and ensure safety. This dynamic role combines pet expertise, customer service, and sales in a fun retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences and deliver training classes.
- Sell training programs and merchandise while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle pet health issues, assist departments, and recognize team contributions.
- Follow policies and participate in a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include pet handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
