Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun experiences for dogs and their owners while upholding company values in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Serve as store training expert, recognizing associate efforts and assisting other departments.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend merchandise, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
