Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a culture of belonging in our Decatur location.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes following PetSmart curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Proactively sell and schedule classes, educating on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, clean training areas, and create safe environments.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Act as training expert, recognizing associates and following company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Thrive under pressure with organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a pet-filled environment.
