Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, ensure safety, and collaborate across departments in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle pets in moderate noise/wet areas with pet hair. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, online; resolve concerns and drive outcomes.
- Sell training classes and merchandise; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, keep training areas clean/safe.
- Act as training expert for store associates; recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Seek 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, and strong communication/organizational skills.
