Role Overview

PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences for pets and parents in Denham Springs, LA. Engage customers, sell classes, and uphold our vision using certified curriculum. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required in this dynamic retail environment with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, ensure clean/safe training areas, and act as store training expert.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Recognize team contributions and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Seek 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Depth perception essential.
