Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences in-store while upholding company values. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas.
• Serve as training expert, coaching associates and recognizing sales efforts.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services/merchandise, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Must excel in communication, organization, computer use, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible availability essential.
