Role Overview
PetSmart’s Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives sales while upholding company values. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, ensuring safe, fun classes that build pet-parent bonds.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum and manage pet parent interactions.
- Actively sell classes, educate on benefits, and handle paperwork/scheduling.
- Maintain clean, safe training areas and respond to pet health issues.
- Train associates as subject matter expert and support store-wide sales/services.
- Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, pet handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
