Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safety and satisfaction in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes proactively in-store, phone, and online; educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep areas clean/safe.
- Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments as needed.
- Handle sick/injured pets immediately, recommend merchandise/services, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and exposure to pets/noise.
