Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll actively promote and sell our proven curriculum while ensuring safe, clean training environments in our East York store.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and handle inquiries/concerns.
• Maintain records, schedule classes, and keep training areas pristine and safe.
• Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and respond to pet emergencies (e.g., vet transport).
• Recommend merchandise/services and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and moderate noise.
