Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safety in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pet training per curriculum and manage pet parent interactions/outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
- Create safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport if needed.
- Train store associates as subject matter expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as required.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation required.
- Strong communication, organization, computer skills; composure under pressure; flexible scheduling.
