Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safe, clean environments. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required in this dynamic retail-pet role.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes across channels and recommend merchandise/services.
• Deliver classes per curriculum, schedule sessions, and maintain all related paperwork.
• Create safe class/store environments; handle sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Educate associates as training expert, recognize contributions, and assist other departments.
• Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and keep training areas presentable.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication/organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, moderate noise, and wet/hairy environments. Reasonable accommodations available.
